Rusty Gate Farm caters for the young, old and
in-between by offering bird watching, trout fishing, walks, mountain biking, swimming, paddling and even a foofie-slide for the less faint-hearted! For those less active, a leisurely read in a hammock alongside a shady stream should do the trick. Should you develop a crave for a rave, the “Filling Station” offers an honesty bar, pool table, foose ball, darts, games and a sound-system.

Weddings and Parties For that special event book the COWSHED for the function that will be remembered for all time. Click here for pictures of recent weddings.  The view alone will enchant your guests and make the ceremony that much more memorable. We have numerous birthday parties 40th 50th 60th and even 26th’s and batchelor parties, and the best part is that after the event the guests can stay in the cottages so no drinking and driving. For extra space the bunkhouse can sleep up to 20 people. The kitchen has just been enlarged so space for that gastronomic delight is aplenty.

Trout Fishing: recently stocked trophy sized rainbow trout of about 2kg in weight! These fish are for catch and release only. Nets must be used to retrieve the fish and only barbless hooks will be allowed.

Mountain Biking: follow part of the Cape Epic Trail, or just stay on the farm roads and Jeep tracks which offer lots of hill climbs and tricky downhill routes.

Walks: from a reasonable flat 500m around the cottages and follow the "Otter Trail" or the longer 2km's to the State dam. More energetic can follow the Jeep tracks and river courses and do a 3 to 4 hour round trip.
